He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Hawes and Alene Curry Hawes; and his siblings, Bobbie Hawes, Ruby Perry and Harry Hawes.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn "Becky" Stille Hawes; his children, Theresa Gail Hawes Gordon (Timothy Douglas Gordon) and Nathaniel Webb Gordon; his brother Richard Hawes; his nephew Ray Perry; and his cousins, Russell Dyer, Rodney Dyer and Tim Shuman.
