He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Ginn Fitzpatrick; and his parents, Asberry Fitzpatrick and Bessie Lord Fitzpatrick. He is survived by: his children, Lane, Norma Fitzpatrick and Jane Fitzpatrick; his grandchildren, Sara F., Tyler Pittman and Sallie Fitzpatrick; and his great grandchildren, Cora Jane, Camden and Cavan Pittman.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ila Perpetual Care Cemetery Fund in care of James McCay (P.O. Box 294 Ila, GA 30647).
