It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Smith (Hull, Georgia), born in Oconee, Georgia, who passed away on July 19, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Johnson Smith and Maddie Alexander Smith; his former wife Lavon Damron Smith Herring; his son Johnny "Smitty" Smith; his former wife Mavis Hammonds Smith; and his wife Mary Lou Spratlin Smith.

He is survived by: his children, David Smith (Charlene) and Debbie Sickles (Bruce); and his grandchildren, Kristi, Laura, Kyle and Kevin. He is also survived by 14 great-granchildren.
