He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Sullivan Simmons. He is survived by: his daughters, Vicky Hansing of Hoschton and Susan; his grandchildren, Scott, Beth Pitman of Braselton, GA, Todd, Sihin Pitman of Bangkok, Emmy Whistler of Vermont and Kagy Whistler Walker (John) of Colorado; his great grandchildren, William Pitman of Braselton, Emma Pitman of Braselton, Gideon Pitman of Bangkok, Thailand and Solomon Pitman of Bangkok, Thailand; his siblings, Thomas Simmons (Betty) of Virginia and Nancy Simmons of Virginia; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Laughlin (Colin) of North Carolina and Howard Sullivan (Jackie) of North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Concord, NC or to American Kidney Foundation in memory of William "Bill" Simmons.
