Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Vernie Mae Cowan of Hoschton, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 98, on November 3, 2020. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis H. Painter and Lena Painter (Luther); her husband O. P. Cowan; her son Kenneth Cowan; and her brothers, Rufus Painter, Comer Painter, Bermon Painter and Ray Painter.

She is survived by: her son Joseph Lamar Cowan, Sr.; her daughter-in-law JoAnn of Braselton, GA; and her grandsons, Joe Cowan (Holly) of Birmingham, AL, Jonathan Cowan (Kim) and Jeremy Cowan (Amy). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Eagle Ranch P.O. Box 7200 Chestnut Mountain, Georgia 30502.
