He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Annie Goethe and Coy Goethe of Charleston, SC; his parents, Virginia Tillotson and Victor Tillotson of Jacksonville, Florida.; and his wife Frances J. Jones of Richmond.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher H. Goethe (Terri) of Toccoa, GA., Cheryl G. Shilling (Tom) of Inman, SC and Karlton H. Goethe (Nancy) of Dallas, GA.; his grandchildren, Lawton Goethe, William Goethe Josh (Manny), Leslie Lane (Kevin), Kellie Alexander (Brent), Taylor Moore (Ethan), Kristen Goethe and Ryan Goethe; and his great grandchildren, Riley, Lucas Lane, Sofia Goethe, Emerson Hambrick and Henry Moore. He is also survived by his 3 children and 1 sister.
