The passing of James Ernest Norton Jr. of Hoschton, Georgia, born in Young Harris, Georgia leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on December 11, 2024 at the age of 82. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Norton and Mae Hooper Norton; and his siblings, Maona Turpin, Gaynell Barrett, Hubert, Troy and Claude Norton.

He is survived by: his wife Peggy Puett Norton of Hoschton, GA; his sons, James Christopher Norton of Conyers, GA and Jonathan Matthew Norton (Michelle) of Columbus, GA; and his granddaughters, Rae Norton, Sarah Atkins (Chris), Anna Norton and Emma Kate Norton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Ivy Creek Baptist Church (2500 Ivy Creek Rd, Buford, GA 30519).
