He is survived by: his wife Linda Evans Deaton; his daughters, Lyn Deaton Rooks (Donald) and Lisa Turk (Lamar); his grandchildren, Adam James Rooks, Abigail Rooks and Jackson Lee Culpepper; his great grandchildren, Gabriella Rooks and Sofia Rooks; and his siblings, Hoke Deaton, Jr., Jeanette Halfhill, Edna Vix and Sue Turner.
