He was predeceased by: his son Rickie Southerland; his parents, Claude Southerland and Ethel Barrow Southerland; and his brother Marcell Southerland. He is survived by: his wife Lucy Southerland of Hoschton; his sons, Barry Southerland (Jill) of Hoschton and Terry Southerland (Sheila) of Dacula; and his grandchildren, Brittany Southerland Kivett, Brannan Southerland, Blake Southerland, Derrick Southerland and Audrey Southerland. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Maddox-Carter Memorial (265 GA Hwy 211, Winder, GA 30680). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Of Christ Cemetery (1234 S Danzler Rd, Duncan, SC 29334).
The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Chestnut Mountain Church of Christ or Georgia Agape in memory of Mr. Southerland.
