It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Burnett Stokes (Hortense, Georgia), born in Idabel, Oklahoma, who passed away on February 22, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Burnett and Dessie Mae Bearden Burnett; her husband Louis Stokes; her son Michael Stokes; and her siblings, Clarence Burnett, Otis Burnett, Alvie Burnett, Lilly Mae Wilson and Dorothy Burnett.
She is survived by: her children, Larry Stokes (Becky) of Hortense, Barry Stokes (Brenda) of Hortense and Connie Stokes (Al); her son-in-law N. C.; her grandchildren, Stacey Drury (Tristin) of Cordelle, Melanie Lightfoot (Brad) of Brunswick, Courtney Wainright (Corey) of Waycross, Jeffrey Stokes (Christy) of Brunswick, Lindsey Quinones (Brian) of Thomasville, GA. and Lauren Rowell (Logan) of Hortense; and her siblings, Doris Raby, Odell Burnett of DeQuincy, LA. and J. P. Burnett of DeQuincy, LA.. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
