Hughes; his wife Dr. Gayle Chew Hughes of Homerville; his son John Edgar Hughes, Jr. of Marietta; his son-in-law Ned Underwood of Atlanta; his sister Wynn Hughes Tabor; his brother-in-law Dwight Tabor of Decatur; his grandchildren, Avery Hughes, Maggie Hughes of Canton, Bo Underwood, John Underwood and Ford Underwood of Atlanta; his sister-in-law Maryanne Hughes of Vancouver, B. C.; his brother Randy; his sister-in-law Kathy Chew of Pelham; his sister Marti; and his brother-in-law Charlie Strong of Gainesville. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
