It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Evelyn Herrington Griffis (Homerville, Georgia), who passed away on July 16, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Beulah Duckworth Herrington and Albert J. Herrington; her husband Allen Griffis; and her granddaughter Cassandra Gary. She is survived by: her daughters, Sylvia Potwin (Bill), Sybil Rawl (Jim) and Ruth Nimmer (Tommy); and her grandchildren, Meg Tinsley (Jones), Tammy Walston (Mort), James Rawl (Alison), Lauren Behl (Austin), Martha Allayne Douglas (Jed), Will Nimmer (Jaclyn) and Chad Nimmer. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A private ceremony for Ms. Griffis will be held, and in leu of flowers, donations may be made to the Homerville First Baptist Church Mission Fund.
