He was predeceased by: his parents, George O'Kelley and Margaret Ramona Sanford; his wife Cheryl Simmons; and his siblings, George "Pug" O'Kelley and Pam O'Kelley.

He is survived by: his daughter Brandee Russo; his son-in-law Nicholas Russo; and his siblings, Joseph O'Kelley of Jefferson, Jonathan O'Kelley of Commerce, Luci Ariail of Maysville and Lee O'Kelley of Homer.
