He was predeceased by: his father Oscar Lloyd; his wife Joan Meeks Spivey; his children, Jeremy Spivey and Jessica Spivey; and his brother Randy Spivey.

He is survived by: his son Jason; his daughter-in-law Sharon Spivey of Homer; his sister Sharon Turpin of Homer; his daughter-in-law Sherry Spivey of Baldwin; and his grandchildren, Julie Spivey, Will Spivey and Paige Spivey. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
