He was predeceased by: his parent Essie B. Gilbert; his siblings, Mattie Sellars, Mary Moss, Essie Mae Gilbert, Joe Gilbert and Horace Gilbert; and his brother-in-law Tommy Lee Moss.
He is survived by: his parent Mattie Eunice; his siblings, Tommy Gilbert (Gaynell), John Gilbert (Viola), Eddie B. Reed, Mary Cunningham (Anthony), Mattie Reed, Ollie Gilbert, Gail Tatum (Nathan) and Christine Gilbert; his brother-in-law Arthur Sellars of LaGrange, GA; and his sister Betty Shavers. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends.
