He was predeceased by: his mother Pauline Nadine Kilgore Tomlinson; and his father-in-law David Earl Sapp. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Sapp Tomlinson of Hoboken; his children, Robert Paul "Rob" (Ashley Tomlinson), Brett (Bethany Morgan), Erica Tomlinson of Mooreville, NC and Amanda Tomlinson of Statesville, NC; his father Wallace Tomlinson; his stepmother Norma Tomlinson of East Palatka, FL; his mother-in-law Brenda Sapp of Hoboken; his brothers, Cecil Wallace Tomlinson, Jr. (Beverly) of Bushnell, FL, Lee Tomlinson (Tina) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Michael Tomlinson (Danette) of Interlachen, FL; his brother-in-law Terry Sapp; his niece Crystal Winn (Andy) of Hoboken; and his grandchildren, Tanner Tomlinson, Brenleigh Morgan, Abigail Shepherd, Raegan Faegan and Kaleb Faegan. He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, relatives.
