He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Ford and Bessie Lewis Rankin, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Strickland Rankin of Hoboken; his children, Susanna Birge of Waverly, Sherry Wood (Chris) of York, PA, Shannon Rankin (Katie) of Morganton, GA and Jack Griffin of Houston, TX; his sister Sally Mainwaring (Steve) of Coatesville, PA; his grandchildren, Emily Smith (Brian), Morgan Wood, Joseph Birge, Ethan Wood and John Michael Birge; and his nephews, Benjamin Schneider and William Schneider. He is also survived by several other relatives and friends.
