He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Stevens, Sr. and Clara Strickland Stevens; and his siblings, Nelson Stevens, Jr., Donald Stevens, Larry Stevens, Wayne Stevens, Winston Stevens, Norma Jean Stevens Ivey and Annelle Stevens Waters.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Dickerson Stevens; his children, Richard Stevens (Cheryl) of Hoboken, Linda Stevens Chesser and Donna Stevens Anderson of Hoboken; his sisters, Gail Stevens Rhodes, Jacquelyn Stevens Thomas and Louise Stevens Spivey; and his grandchildren, Steven Chesser (Marcia), Ryan Chesser (Carla), Heath Briscoe (Jessica), Josh Briscoe (Stefanie), Katie Hayes (Tyler), Kelley Lawrence (Sarah), Kami Roberts (Chris) and Jill Collins (Taylor). He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.
