He is survived by: his wife Joyce Lewis Mesa; his children, Skyler James Lewis Mesa, Peyton Soul Lewis Mesa and Hope June Lewis Mesa (Blake White); his brothers, Scott J. Schilling (Ginger Winchester) and Wayne Mesa (Tammy); his grandson Atlas Brooks White; his aunts, Sandra Mesa Mitchell (Dave) and Gerri Zwiefel; and his uncle Ralph Mesa.
