Nellie Shuler Thackston Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nellie Shuler Thackston (Hiram, Georgia), born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on March 15, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Wilbert R. Thackston; her daughter Marlene McGuiness; and her granddaughter Shannon Vess. She is survived by: her children, Mark Thackston (Lorinda) and Angela Byers (Kenneth); her sister Virginia Shuler; and her grandchildren, Brandie (Dan), Breanna, Monica, Harley, Scott (Deanna), Sean (Christy) and Amanda (Lee). She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Nellie's honor St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
