He was predeceased by: his parents, Roosevelt "Velton" Cox and Rose Kendrick Cox; his daughter Janette Rebecca Cox Perez; his grandsons, Nathaniel and Nicolas Cox; and his siblings, Lowell Cox, Jessie Matthews, Bessie Cochran, Bill Cox, Sara Williams, Dean Gardner and Gladys Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Joy M. Hicks Cox; his son Michael; his daughter-in-law Shanda Cox; and his grandson James Cox. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clark Funeral Home (4373 Atlanta Hwy, Hiram, GA 30141). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sam Clark Chapel (4373 Atlanta Hwy, Hiram, GA 30141).
