He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Murphy and Estelle Murphy; and his siblings, George Murphy and Betty Rhindress. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Murphy; his children, Nic Richards (Jenna), Josh Murphy and Breanna Flowers (Chris); his sister Linda McCullers (Ralph); and his grandson Jeremiah Boyer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
