He was predeceased by: his father John Scott; and his siblings, Harrison Combs, Victor Combs, Devaughn Combs, Robert Combs, Geneva Thomas, June Earls, Shelby Qualls and Jean Ridenhour.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Combs; his sons, John Paul Scott Combs and Adam Joshua Combs; his siblings, Phillip Combs and Elinore Downey; his grandchildren, Mariah Candence Combs, Isaiah Emerson Combs and Violet Olivia Combs; and also Alicia Fae Combs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
