He was predeceased by: his father James Weathington; and his granddaughters, Shelley Warren and Ruby Miller. He is survived by: his wife Connie Weathington; his daughters, Nicole Miller, Leah Orman and Kayla Jordan (Keith); his sisters, Jane Curtis and Lela Roberts (Bill); his grandchildren, Austin Rakestraw, Yasmine Schmidt (William), Hunter Rakestraw, Gabby Warren, Belle Warren, Morgan Jordan and Zach Jordan; his great grandchildren, Axel Schmidt and Anastasia Schmidt; and his nieces and nephews, William Roberts, Tammy Mote, Taylor Smith and Cora Wyatt.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Joe's honor towards Donate Life America.
