He is survived by: his daughters, Taylor Raines and Laura Robinson (Joseph); his grandchildren, Launa Raines and Scarlett Raines; his mother Glenda Veach Covington; his siblings, John Covington Jr. (Martha), David Covington (Pamela), Cindy Covington, Diana Bickers (Barry) and Sandra Covington; his nieces, Nicole Covington and Stephanie Diamond (Chase); and his nephew Scott Proctor (Dana).
