He was predeceased by: his parents, James Soloman Butler and Vera Lucille Butler; his wife Patricia Ann Butler; and his brothers, Billy Butler and Charles "Bud" Butler.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard "Ricky" Butler (Rochelle) of San Antonio, TX, Robbie Butler (Kelley) of Hiram, GA and Randy Steven Butler (Michelle) of Temple, GA; his siblings, Douglas Butler and Dixie Ann Graham; and his grandchildren, Bradley Butler, Rachel Foster (Josh), Cassie Slater (Tyler), Mitchell Butler (Casey), Bryce Butler, Brandon Butler, Emily Papagorgiou, Tristan Colyar (Claire), Adam Abernathy, Kaila Abernathy and Jarod Abernathy. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
