He is survived by: his daughters, Jamice Meschke (Paul) of St. Simons and Elaine "Laney" Wood (Kenneth "Kip" Adkins) of McDonough; his grandchildren, Paul Meschke, Jr. (Autumn), Ben Wood (Jessica) and Lacey McLendon (Nathan); and his great grandchildren, Adelyn Meschke and Mikalyn Meschke.

“I am very sorry to hear about John Edmund. I have always felt close to Hillsboro and all the Dumas family, especially Laney. I just saw the obit today, I would have attended the funeral. I lost my Daddy too. You never get over it, you just learn to live with it. All the best.”
