He was predeceased by: his father Avery Barrett; his wife Norene Barrett; his mother Tassie Sims Barrett; his daughter Linda Barrett; his brothers, Earl Barrett, Everett Barrett and Homer Barrett; and his stepmother Olla Mae Barrett.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Gallogly (John R.) and Mitzi Walker (Jeff); his siblings, Essie Ash, Truman Barrett and Roy Barrett; and his grandchildren, Jason McCoy, LaBreeska McCoy, Lacey Lewis and John-Michael Gallogly. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
