Sarah Manita Berrong Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Manita Berrong (Hiawassee, Georgia), who passed away on January 28, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edwin J. Berrong; her parents, Tom Jenkins and Bonnie Jenkins; and her siblings, Jerry Jenkins, Joyce Kimsey and Jimmye Harmon.
She is survived by: her children, Gary "Goat" Berrong (Angela) of Hiawassee and Robyn Henson of Hiawassee; her grandchildren, Alicia Strange (Corry) of Knoxville, TN, Kristen Henson and Kennedi Henson of Hiawassee; her great grandchildren, Tory, Cohen and Mally Strange; and her granddaughter Manita.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Banister-Cooper Funeral Home (678 N Main St, Hiawassee, GA 30546). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at the Old Union Baptist Church (6321 US-76, Young Harris, GA 30582).
