“My brother sent me a note as he had heard I was upset and he wrote, “Wherever a beautiful soul has been there are beautiful memories.””

“I miss him already but have many good memories to rely on to keep me going. This is just one of the memories we share not to mention all the stories he would tell me of the kids and Leah. I felt like I was almost one of the household! Our kids play volleyball and occasionally we would have tournaments in Atlanta, I could always count on Mark coming to say hello watch a set or two with his kids in tow! I am so so sorry for your loss and my loss.”

“He beat me easily but we both won! I remember that day and time so well. Consequently, I dedicated myself to continue running (though if you know me, it does not come easy). I threw shot put and discus in College, so I do not resemble a runner! Mark inspired me to keep going and I reran the VA beach marathon (but still not at his pace!). He has inspired me again and in fact I have started to run again and hope to run (well complete) another marathon in Mark’s honor.”

“Not sure where to start- Maybe I hate 2020 even more now as it has taken a shining light from us. I have known Mark for over 15 years and am a better person for it. I used to manage him at work and though friends, he held me accountable as I managed him and helped me become a better manager. We also had the idea (not going to say good idea lol) to run a relay marathon together in VA beach. He ended up running the 1st half and I tried to keep his pace but was not even close.”

“We are truly blessed and lucky. Life experiences are engrained forever in our memories - conjured up by a sound, a smell, a taste, a location, a vision . . . Mark is and will be in our hearts and thoughts forever - leaving us with many memorable stories to continue to share. Rest in peace Mark. With warmest regards - The Wells family, Philo, Linda and Peter. (aka Wasco)”
