It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Childress (Hiawassee, Georgia), born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on September 5, 2018, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dawson Childress and Lena Mae Newton Childress; and his siblings, Dawson Childress and Annie Mae Turner. He is survived by: his spouse Mary Frances Duffey Childress of Hiawassee; his sons, Ross Childress of Griffin, GA. and Jon Childress of Blairsville; and his sister Sara Katherine Jackson of Jackson, GA.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Burch Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Childress.
