With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Elaine Holmes of Hiawassee, Georgia, born in Manistee, Michigan, who passed away on September 22, 2022 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her brother Garth Lee; her parents, Levi D. Hawbaker and Dorothy D. Hawbaker; her husband John W. "Bill" Holmes; her sons, John Lee Holmes and Rodney W. Holmes; and her grandson Trevor Holmes.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carol Oeder (Gary) of Hiawassee and Sue Forte of Laurel, Maryland. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
