He was predeceased by: his stepdaughters, Beth Hurd and Renee Pirtle; his siblings, Glenn Pope, Earl Pope, Charles Pope, L. G. Pope and Hilda "Sissy" Pope; and his grandson Phillip Pope.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Mock Pope; his children, Mark Pope (Geri), Robin Butler (Harold), Pamela Murphey (Steve) and Clifford Pope (Jodi); his stepchildren, Patty Hawkins (Robert) and Charles Tomlinson (Dottie); his siblings, Frank Pope, Helen Foster and Nancy Pressley; and his grandchildren, Joshua Pope, Tracy Daniel, April Benson, Stephen Murphey, Thomas Murphey, Shane Murphey, Austin Pope, Carli Pope, Josi Pope, Ann Leeman, Amber Pirtle, Brittany Pirtle, Bobby Hawkins, Kristen Greer and Kristina Masone. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
