He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Averette and Adeline Averette; and his sisters, Annee McGahee and Eugenia Cason. He is survived by: his wife Dicye Lucas Averette (Bootsie); his children, Joe Averette (Erin) of Anderson, SC, Jan O'Meara (Mike) of Augusta, GA and Dete Crawford (Mike) of Evans, GA; his grandchildren, Joseph Averette (Heidi), Marie Marchant (Ron), Erin Pettis (Chris), Lucas O'Meara (Melanie), Jonathan Crawford (Ansley) and Stephen Crawford; and his great grandchildren, Addelyn Averette, Mac, Aline Marchant, Gray, Alice O'Meara, Bodie and Liam Pettis.
