He is survived by: his daughter Debra Timmons; his sisters, Elanora Merritt and Sheridan Merritt; his grandchildren, Fareed Johnson, Anthony Merritt, Rashad Merritt and Waheda Johnson; his friend Rosena Miller; and his nieces and nephews, Matthew Merritt, Sandy Waltower, Terrence Merritt (Stephanie), John West III, Shawn West, Rhonda Merritt, Cherry Waltower and Teresa Dunn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
