He was predeceased by: his parent Esker Grimes; and his spouse Frances Copeland Grimes. He is survived by: his parent Mary Anna Moore Grimes; his daughters, Diane Cravey (Stanley) of Brunswick, Sonja Slaton (Troy) and Brenda Marsh (Lee); and his siblings, Wendell Grimes of McRae, Linda Selph of Vidalia, Bobby Grimes of McRae and Carolyn Laughman of Macon. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
