With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Smallwood Jr. (Helen, Georgia), born in Commerce, Georgia, who passed away on February 8, 2020 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father James Daniel Smallwood, Sr.; his wife Runette Taylor Smallwood; his daughter Shawn S. Hammond; his son-in-law William C. Hammond, Jr; and his granddaughters, Victoria Brooke and Olivia Campbell.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Smallwood's memory may be made to Christ Church Episcopal – 10 North Church Street, Greenville, South Carolina 29601.
