He was predeceased by: his parents, Hammond Leon Powell and Estelle Douglas Powell (Shirley Ann Johnson); and his siblings, Marie Murray and Herman Powell. He is survived by: his son Brandon Darley (Lakecha Hersey) of Graham; his grandchildren, Kelsie Carver (Ryan) of Hazlehurst, Kiley Gillis of Hazlehurst, Kole Gillis of Hazlehurst and L. J. Mathews of Jacksonville Fla; his siblings, Edward Powell of Jacksonville, FL and Jean Crosby of Yulee, FL; and his close friends, Stephanie Boatright, Lindy Watts, Steve Lewis, Paco Pizano, Bug and Carol McCarty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
