Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Merleen Shumans of Hazlehurst, Georgia, born in Baxley, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 94, on January 12, 2023. She was predeceased by: her husband Leroy Shumans; her parents, William Briley and Addie Cowart Hamm; her daughter-in-law Judy Shumans; her grandson David Kyle Shumans; and her siblings, Gertrude Miles, Kathleen Bright, Essie Mae Floyd, Angie Lee Graham, Warnell Hamm (Sam), James Lester Hamm, Eugene Hamm (Jab), Vernon Hamm (Bud), Charles Felton Hamm and John Edward Hamm.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Lula Mae Perry (Wayne) of Hazlehurst and Dr. David Leroy Shumans of Graham; her granddaughter Jennifer; her sister Janelle Strickland of Graham; and her sister-in-law Vicki Vickers (Gavin) of Alma.
The Shumans Family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to continue to follow social distancing guidelines set by our local health district and the CDC.
