She was predeceased by: her parents, James Merritt and Mary Smith; her husband Hal Gibbs; and her siblings, Margaret Dennis, Roger Merritt and Eugene Merritt.
She is survived by: her daughter Lisa G.; her son-in-law Ray Yawn of Hazlehurst; her siblings, James Grady (Sandra Merritt), Russell Merritt of Douglas and Betty; her brother-in-law Roger Creamer of Uvalda; her grandchildren, Holly Y. Chaney (Tyler) of Hazlehurst and Josh R. Yawn of Uvalda; and her great grandchildren, Brooklyn Chaney and Alec Chaney.
