It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen O'Berry of Hazlehurst, Georgia, born in Appling, Georgia, who passed away on September 18, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon LeRoy Stone and Jessie Brown Yawn Stone; her husbands, Buddy Carter, Jack "PePaw" Kennedy and Jim O'Berry; her daughter-in-law Peggy Carter; and her brothers, Vernon "Bo" Stone, Eugene Stone and Steve Stone.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Boyett (Steve) of Hazlehurst, Keith Carter (Tina) of Hazlehurst and Brad Carter of Alma; her siblings, Linda Stone of Hazlehurst and G. W. Stone (Tommie Jean) of Tifton; her sisters-in-law, Genie Stone of Baxley and Liz Stone of Hazlehurst; and her aunt Vivian Stone of Hazlehurst. She is also survived by Twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
