He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Cooper and Maudie Deems Cooper; and his siblings, Barbara Ann Cooper, Mollie Carter, Elizabeth Benefield and Howard Cooper.
He is survived by: his sister Bonnie Merritt (James) of Broxton, GA. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
