He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Colquitt Dykes and Evie Hayes Dykes; his sons, James Tracey Dykes and Anthony Ray Dykes; and his siblings, Margaret Herrington, Jimmy Lee Dykes and Walter George Dykes.
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Dykes Carter; his siblings, Tommy Edward Dykes, Johnny Martin Dykes, David Jerry Dykes of Temple, Lucille Mincey of Hazlehurst and Mary Alice Stone of Hazlehurst; his daughter-in-law Wanda J. Dykes of Hazlehurst; his grandchildren, Anthony Craig Dykes, Brady Mikell and Britney Setchel; and his great grandchildren, Trace Dykes, Kelsey Carter and Tommy Mikell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
