He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sister Margaret Jean Herrington; his wife Marliss Collette Dykes of Hazlehurst; his children, Gayle Dykes of Lyons, George Dykes III of Lyons and Thomas Franke Dykes of Dublin; his stepchildren, Wanda Cornellier of Phoenix, AR, Cheryl Massey of Tempe, AR and Paul French of Austin, TX; and his siblings, Lucille Mincey of Hazlehurst, Alice Stone of Hazlehurst, James Dykes of Hazlehurst, Tommy Dykes of Hazlehurst, Johnny Dykes of Douglas and David Dykes of Atlanta. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
