With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Elizabeth Purvis of Hazlehurst, Georgia, born in Appling, Georgia, who passed away on May 8, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Evan C. Yawn and Ava Sapp Yawn; and her husband Lamar Purvis. She is survived by: her children, Alisa Jones (Kenny) of Hazlehurst and Garry; her grandchildren, Heather McGraw (Robert), Chesley Taylor (Whitley), Joey Purvis, Kendall Jones (Tess), Blake Jones (Sara Emily), Blair and Matt Sears; and her great grandchildren, Layne Taylor, Natalie Taylor, McKinley Taylor, Madison Jones, Jase Jones, Layne Riley, Brody Riley, Ava Leigh Sears and Asher Jones.
