He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Powell, Sr. and Annie Mathis Powell; and his brother Carl Powell, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Lois Williams Powell of Hazlehurst; his son Alan Powell (Debbie); his grandson Austin Powell; and his sisters, Runelle Sandiford, Alline Johnson (Raymond) and Joyce Fulford. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
