He was predeceased by: his father John Grover Simmons; and his sister Judy Elaine Long. He is survived by: his mother Allene Davis Simmons of Hawkinsville; his sister Paula S. Cook (Greg) of Eastman; his aunt Betty Jo McCarthy of Cochran; his niece Amory Cook of Eastman; his nephews, Bill Hood of Augusta and Casey Hood of Hawkinsville; and his great-nephew Ethan Hood of Augusta.
