He was predeceased by: his wives, Mildred Sanders and Betty Jo Sanders; and his daughter Billie Janee Johnson. He is survived by: his caregiver Charlotte Gomez of Hawkinsville, Georgia. He is also survived by two grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
