He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Candler George Sr. and Buena Loy Wellborn George; his wife Eleanor Howell George; and his brother Candler George. He is survived by: his children, Wellborn Travis George, Jr. (Jennifer), William Howell "Bill" George (Rebecca) and Elizabeth Ann George; his brothers, Ben George and Edwin "Precious" George; his grandchildren, Will George (Brandi), Betsy Mackey (Kurt), Travis George III (Daphne) and Joshua George (Jacquelyn); and his great grandchildren, Kyle Mackey, Reily George, Sawyer George, Hemingway George and Calista George.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643.
