He is survived by: his children, Susan Slater of Hartwell and Mike Slater (Christy) of Gainesville, GA; his sisters, Jeanette Frye of Hickory, NC, Sara Geraldine Dealveco of Hickory, NC, Louise Eckard of Hickory, NC and Minnie Lois Steele of Hickory, NC; his grandson Ben Slater (Jessica) of Acworth, GA; and his great grandchildren, Haley, Alex and Andrew Slater.
